The HSC Registrar sets up registration in SportsConnect or PlayMetrics, depending on what the club is using. Parents often have registration difficulty, and the registrar will need to be responsive over email. This is a difficult and time consuming job. Other responsibilities include:
- managing the transfer of LYS developmental players to their rec teams
- Fixing wrong registration data (bad email etc) when necessary
- Providing refunds for cancellations
- Setting up coupons for families with financial needs
- Running reports for the board
- working with PYSA when registration configuration needs to be corrected on their side.
This position has not been held for many years. Currently, Mark Janes sets up most registrations for LYS/VSC/FHSC/SSC/HSC.
Because this role is difficult to fill, HSC and the other rec clubs rely on LYS paid staff to perform many of the registration tasks.
Anyone who is a skilled office worker can do this job. It is perhaps the most essential task for the club. It is busiest in the 4 weeks leading up to the season and the first two weeks of the season.
