Divide players into groups of 4. Each group will have 2 kids playing 1v1. The other kids stand 15-20 yards apart with their legs wide so kids can kick the ball through their legs. Each standing kid is a "goal" for the game. IMPORTANT: line the groups of 4 up so they go down the field. The games must be in a line for the rounds to progress. rounds of 1 minute, see who gets the most goals in the 1v1. You can score either direction though the goal, and you can score several times in a row if the defender doesn't get the ball from you. after the round, resolve ties with rock/paper/scissors. Swap goals for players and play the second round. AFTER THE SECOND ROUND you will have 2 winners and two losers from the group. WINNERS move to the next group on the right (unless they are on the far right). LOSERS move to the next group on the left (unless they are on the far left). Round 3 begins with the new groups. The games will be more even because the stronger players have shifted to one direction. Players can't stand more than 4 or 5 rounds. PROBLEMS: * kids get tired quick * not everyone can tolerate losing * easiest thing for a weak player to do is boot the ball to kentucky and try to win rock paper scissors when the other player retrieves the ball * there is no "out of bounds" so kids may run way far away * competitive kids will foul each other. You have to watch them.
